The No. 21 Texas Longhorns will have to wait until following completion of Saturday’s Red River Showdown against the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners before finding out the kickoff time for the Oct. 16 game against the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Austin.
The game will start at 11 a.m. Central on FOX or 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC — in all likelihood, Texas gets the primetime slot with a win against Oklahoma and gets the early game with a loss. If the Longhorns do receive the morning kickoff time, it will be the fourth straight game morning game for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s team.
The Longhorns own an all-time record of 26-9 against the Cowboys, including a 15-6 mark in Austin. Texas beat Oklahoma State in overtime last year, 41-34, in Stillwater. The last time the two programs faced off at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the Horns pulled out a 36-30 victory in 2019.
