The No. 21 Texas Longhorns have another early kickoff as the Big 12 announced on Saturday that the Horns will face the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys at 11 a.m. Central on FOX next weekend in Austin.
In all likelihood, Texas lost the primetime slot with the 55-48 loss against Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, setting up the fourth straight game morning game for head coach Steve Sarkisian’s team. Now the Sooners get the privilege of a late kick against the Horned Frogs.
The Longhorns own an all-time record of 26-9 against the Cowboys, including a 15-6 mark in Austin. Texas beat Oklahoma State in overtime last year, 41-34, in Stillwater. The last time the two programs faced off at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, the Horns pulled out a 36-30 victory in 2019.
At 5-0 with wins over Missouri State, Tulsa, Boise State, Kansas State, and Baylor, Oklahoma State enters next weekend’s crucial contest coming off a bye week.
