The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team is ranked No. 6 in the latest AP Poll.
The Longhorns were previously ranked No. 5, but at a 80-79 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners last Tuesday, it seems, was enough to bump the Texas squad down a spot this week. The Longhorns’ matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats over the weekend was postponed.
Next up for the Longhorns are the Baylor Bears on Tuesday. The Bears, the nation’s No. 2 team, according to the most recently AP Poll, are undefeated (16-0) on the season.
Elsewhere across the Big 12 in this week’s rankings: The Oklahoma Sooners made a big jump from No. 15 to No. 9 following a win over the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Texas Tech Red Raiders dropped from No. 10 to No. 13 after a loss to the LSU Tigers. The West Virginia Mountaineers dropped from No. 11 to No. 17 after a loss to the Florida Gators. And the Kansas Jayhawks dropped from No. 15 to No. 23 after a loss to the Tennessee Volunteers.
