The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team is No. 12 in the latest AP Poll.

That’s a one-spot increase after the Longhorns were ranked No. 13 in last week’s poll.

In other words, Texas’ climb back into the top ring of teams will continue. Last week, the Longhorns fell seven spots following a double overtime loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys and an utter stomping by the Baylor Bears, who remain No. 2 in this week’s poll.

But a win over the TCU Horned Frogs over the weekend changed Texas’ downward trajectory. The Longhorns’ next test will come in the form of the Oklahoma Sooners, who are currently sitting at No. 9 in this week’s poll. Texas will face the Sooners on Tuesday.

Elsewhere in Big 12, aside from the aforementioned teams: the West Virginia Mountaineers are nipping at the Longhorns heels, at No. 13. As are the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who are ranked No. 15. The Kansas Jayhawks are also ranked No. 23 in this week’s poll.
