The No. 6 seed Texas Longhorns women’s basketball team is set to take on the No. 2 Maryland Terrapins on Sunday in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament, following an upset win over the UCLA Bruins earlier this week. It’s the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance since 2018, and a defining moment for first-year head coach Vic Schaefer’s tenure with the Longhorns.
