The Texas Longhorns are looking for elite defensive talent and have made the top 10 schools for five-star defensive end Omari Abor.

The five-star defensive end from Duncanville is one of the most coveted prospects in the country, holding offers from 25 schools and will continue to be a contentious recruitment. The Longhorns find themselves in a final group alongside the defending champion Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes. With the NCAA prohibition on visits lifted in June, Abor currently has just one visit scheduled, heading to visit the Buckeyes.

Abor is a composite five-star recruit and the No. 23 player in the country according to the 247Sports composite ranking and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas.

If Texas manages to secure his services, he will be the highest-ranked defensive prospect to end up in Burnt Orange since the 2018 cycle that featured two five-star defenders. For 2022, Texas has already gained commitments from four defenders, including four-star defensive tackle Kristopher Ross.
