On Saturday afternoon, the first Orange-White spring game of the Steve Sarkisian era in Austin will get underway.
Save the running backs coach Stan Drayton, the Texas Longhorns are learning under the guidance of an entirely new coaching staff, and the excitement certainly favors the offense, which will be helmed by Sarkisian himself. Of course, the primary storyline to that end is the ongoing quarterback battle between Casey Thompson and Hudson Card as the Horns look to replace Sam Ehlinger.
Elsewhere, which receivers can begin to separate themselves? Can a seasoned secondary and stout defensive front headline a dominant defensive showing under first-year defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski?
We won’t get all of the answers on Saturday, but we’ll get our first true glimpse at the 2021 Texas Longhorns. The spring game is set for 1 p.m. CT on Longhorn Network.
The Orange-White rosters and the injury report for the spring game can be found here.
Let’s talk some (spring) football. This is your spring game open thread.
