The Texas Longhorns’ second player came off the board Friday as the Cincinnati Bengals selected Joseph Ossai in the third round of the NFL Draft.
In three seasons for the Longhorns, Ossai put together a solid career - racking up 165 tackles, 11.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss. In spite of his shortened season in 2020, he managed to increase both his total sacks and tackles for loss year-over-year as a part of his final season at Texas.
Ossai was a part of the massive 2018 recruiting class that included 14 players ranked in the top 200 prospects overall, ending the cycle as the No. 3 recruiting class in the country.
For the Longhorns, his selection marks the second former Texas player to come off the board on Day 2 of the NFL Draft, joining Samuel Cosmi - who was drafted a round earlier by the Washington Football Team.
