Bevo’s Daily Roundup: Texas commit Jaydon Blue on why he’s opting out of his senior year

2022 Texas Longhorns commit Jaydon Blue, a four-star running back out of Klein Cain High School in Houston, is opting out of his high school senior season this fall, he announced yesterday. Later that day, he opened up on social media on why he made the decision.

Notably, Blue said, the decision is centered around preserving his body.

“This is a strategic and conscious effort to ensure that I am prepared to perform at an elite level at the collegiate rankings during the 2022 season,” Blue wrote on Twitter.

Is this the beginning of a new college recruiting trend?
