Texas lands No. 2 national seed

The Longhorns have a chance to make the College World Series without leaving the Disch.

On Monday, the Texas Longhorns were selected as the No. 2 national seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host the Austin Regional at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Arizona State, Fairfield, and Southern are other selections for the regional, which will be the 60th NCAA Tournament appearance for Texas and the 36th time the Longhorns have hosted a regional. Both are NCAA records.

The winner of the Austin Regional will face the winner of the Gainesville Regional hosted by Florida for the opportunity to appear in the College World Series.

Saturday, June 5
Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 – 1 p.m.
Game 4: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 – 6 p.m.

Sunday, June 6
Game 5: Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4 – 1 p.m.
Game 6: Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 4 – 7 p.m.

Monday, June 7
Game 7 (if necessary): same teams as Game 6 – 3 p.m. (subject to change)
