The 2021 Big 12-Big East Battle will feature a game between the Texas Longhorns and the Seton Hall Pirates, the school announced on Wednesday. The Longhorns travel to New Jersey to face the Pirates on Dec. 9, with FOX Sports holding the television rights for the game.
The 10-game slate between the two conferences marks the third year for the Big 12-Big East Battle, with the leagues jointly determining the matchups. The current contract lasts through the 2022-23 season.
Texas has faced Seton Hall three previous times, winning two of those games, including a 78-61 win in the Space City Classic in Houston in 2002. The two programs also faced off at The Meadowlands during the 2004 season, another win for the Longhorns by a 70-62 margin.
The biggest matchup in the 2021 Battle is Villanova traveling to Waco to face Baylor, while Shaka Smart returns to Manhattan as Marquette plays Kansas State.
