The Longhorn Republic checks in on the Rice Owls

We continue our march through the Texas Longhorns’ 2022 schedule, this week previewing another former Southwest Conference opponent - the Rice Owls. Last season was not ideal for anyone but in spite of having more than half of their games canceled, the Owls showed progress under second-year head coach Mike Bloomgren.

They bring back a ton of production from last year’s team, in addition to adding former Nebraska Cornhusker quarterback Luke McCaffrey to their talented core. What will the season look like for Rice and how will they try to incorporate a new quarterback into the offense?
