Four-star Spearman wide receiver Brenen Thompson revealed his top six schools last night via his Twitter page, and the speedster named the Texas Longhorns as one of his finalists.
Thompson has been a top priority for head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff since they arrived in Austin, and they recently hosted the speedster for a visit.

Thompson’s finalists were rounded out by Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Texas A&M, so along with some regional rivals, Texas will also have to compete with some national powers to win out here.
At one point it looked like the signs pointed towards Clemson, but Texas has been working diligently on trying to keep Thompson in-state and closer to home, but the Longhorns picked up two 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions in late May
Thompson has already made official visits to Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Texas A&M, so he will have two visits remaining for the fall.
He’s ranked as the No. 87 player nationally and the No. 11 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
