Texas Longhorns alum Sam Ehlinger is not expected to start in the Indianapolis Colts’ preseason opener this weekend, ESPN reports. Jacob Eason is expected to be under center.

Ehlinger was drafted by the Colts’ in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft following an up-and-down four years as a starter on the Forty Acres under former head coach Tom Herman. Recently, Ehlinger and Eason have competed for the backup role behind Carton Wentz, who is reportedly out for the next few weeks due to a recent foot injury.
