The season opener against the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns isn’t the first opportunity fans will have to see the Texas Longhorns in action — the school announced on Saturday that Wednesday’s practice will be free and open to fans.

Gate 7 opens at 6:00 p.m. Central on Aug. 18 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium ahead of practice at 6:45.

Sections 3-8 will be open for fans on the west side of the stadium with free parking available at San Jacinto Garage on the north side of the stadium.

The practice will also feature happy hour pricing on beer ($5 domestic, $6 premium) and marks only the second time since Sarkisian was hired that fans will have a chance to watch the team practice — the White team defeated the Orange team, 20-12, during the annual spring scrimmage back in April. A 92-yard interception return for a touchdown by cornerback D’Shawn Jamison served as the highlight for the White team.
