During a radio appearance on 670 the Score earlier this week, former Pittsburgh Panthers head coach and Fox Sports college football analyst Dave Wannstedt says he’s hearing from folks very high up the college athletics food chain that some of the remaining eight Big 12 Conference members will soon be divvied up amongst what’s left of the Power Five setup.
In particular, he’s hearing that the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Kansas State Wildcats will join the Pac-12, the West Virginia Mountaineers will join the ACC, and the Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas Jayhawks will join the Big Ten.

Of course, that leaves out the Baylor Bears, TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Tech Red Raiders from the party, all of whom would make up part of the venerable Lone Star TV market.
So, how true might these rumblings play out? That’s hard to say.
Then again, it’s realignment season – and anything can happen now that the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners have let the genie out of the bottle by joining the SEC.
