The Texas Longhorns went into Fayetville with high hopes and came out with a bad headache, losing the marquee non-conference matchup 40-21 against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Texas was able to put some points up in garbage time to make it look better than it was, but the game never really felt close. Arkansas got whatever it wanted on the ground, rushing for more than 300 yards in the win. Hudson Card struggled in the game and head coach Steve Sarkisian made the change to Thompson late in the game - managing to put up two scores in that time.

The ground game did the Longhorns no favors offensively either - with Bijan Robinson managing just 3.6 yards per carry en route to 69 yards rushing. Collectively, Texas managed just 118 passing yards and allowed three sacks in the loss.

The Longhorns now have a lot of questions they need to answer in the week ahead of Rice, hopefully getting their ducks in a row before starting conference play in two weeks.
