The Texas Longhorns did something they haven’t done since 2005 — scoring 70 on an opponent.
From the opening gun, the Longhorns’ offense was efficient, scoring touchdowns on nine of their first 10 possessions. Texas continues to try to prove that the offensive performance against Arkansas was the exception and not the rule. Casey Thompson finished the game with 303 yards and five touchdowns on 18 competitions before coming out of the game late in the third quarter.
Star running back Bijan Robinson also got some early rest, finishing the game with 191 total yards and a touchdown on 20 touches. The effort to get Xavier Worthy involved continued Saturday as well, racking up 100 yards on five receptions and three scores.
Now Texas heads into the second week of conference play to take on the TCU Horned Frogs, who are coming off of a tough game against their crosstown rival, the SMU Mustangs.
