No. 21 Texas vs. No. 23 Louisiana: Game thread

The Steve Sarkisian era in Austin is officially set to get underway with a ranked matchup as the No. 21 Texas Longhorns kick off their 2021 campaign against the No. 23 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns.

Following four straight winning season under Tom Herman’s tutelage, the Longhorns will be looking to take that much-needed step from good to great, and they’ll look to do so behind a loaded, veteran defense and an elite-level backfield spearheaded by sophomore Bijan Robinson. Louisiana, on the other hand, returns nearly every key contributor from their 10-win team in 2020, and they’ll be aiming for their second consecutive season-opening win over a Big 12 foe after upsetting Iowa State last season.

Kickoff between the Horns and Ragin’ Cajuns is set for 3:30 p.m. CT on FOX.
