Longhorns Daily News: Rece Davis: ‘Texas is the better team and will likely win the rematch’ versus OU

The dust is still settling after the Texas Longhorns lost their annual Red River rivalry to the Oklahoma Sooners last weekend. But amidst that dust is also the continued enthusiasm for the Longhorns, at least among those within the talking heads community and sports media.

“Well coached, so ultra-prepared for that game,” ESPN College Game Day host Reve Davis told Paul Finebaum earlier this week, according to On3. “… They played their tails off. It compels me to say that Texas is the better team and will likely win the rematch — assuming that’s what we get in the [Big 12] championship game. But Oklahoma acquitted itself beautifully. They played their guts out and Dillon Gabriel was the consummate leader.”

Still, Davis continued, “I don’t think they are better than Texas, they were just better enough to win the game on Saturday.”
