Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian gets to take on his alma mater, the BYU Cougars, this weekend, where Sarkisian is a former starting quarterback with the program.

In speaking ahead of their matchup, Sitake shared a few nice tidbits about Sarkisian.

“Sark is all about ball, man, and he saw a really good team,” Sitake said, according to Inside Texas. “I think the biggest concern for him during that time was if John Walsh was going to come out early for the draft or return for his senior year. I think all Sark was waiting for was that moment. I don’t want to sit here and act like I did a great job.”

Sitake continued, “Football at BYU speaks for itself,” Sitake said. “I don’t think he came because of a host or because we went and hung out — I don’t know, played ping pong or whatever it was. I think that he saw the camaraderie, the family atmosphere here, the love that the players have for one another and he was drawn to it. I was just a small part of it.”
