When Quinn Ewers was taken to the locker room in the second half of Saturday’s game against Houston, Texas fans got a look at the future of the quarterback position.

The future has become the present with Ewers out against BYU and likely longer after suffering a shoulder sprain in his throwing arm.

That means Maalik Murphy will step into the starting role but Steve Sarkisian did not rule out Arch Manning getting playing time going forward with both QBs receiving first-team reps during practice.
