The No. 7 Texas Longhorns close out the regular season on Friday at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC and the Longhorns opened as 13.5-point favorites on Sunday, according to DraftKings.*
The 73rd meeting and final meeting between Texas and Texas Tech as conference opponents will also be the 40th matchup in Austin with the Longhorns holding a 54-18 edge overall and 32-7 record against the Red Raiders on the Forty Acres.
Last season, Texas Tech beat Texas 37-34 in overtime in Lubbock, but the Longhorns won the last matchup in Austin, a 70-35 blowout that featured 639 total yards by Texas.
The Red Raiders enter the game bowl eligible at 6-5 with a 5-3 record in conference play thanks to a three-game winning streak that includes Saturday’s 24-23 victory over UCF in Lubbock. Atop the Big 12 standings with a 7-1 record and a 10-1 mark overall, the Longhorns are in the midst of their best season since 2009.
