The Longhorns close out the regular season with one more final revenge stop.

The No. 7 Texas Longhorns are unconcerned with tiebreaker scenarios.

For them, the mission is simple, win and you’re in Arlington with a shot to win the school’s first conference championship since the 2009 season, continuing this year’s string of “First time since 2009...” The last obstacle, and stop on their revenge tour, is the final foreseeable game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, coming to Austin hoping to improve what has been a disappointing season for them.

The Red Raiders started their season losing three of their first four games, before stabilizing in conference play and getting themselves bowl eligible with one game left to play. While it wouldn’t erase all of their frustrations from the season, a win in Austin over the Longhorns — that would end their hopes for a CFP berth — would go a long way to making them feel better about Joey McGuire’s second season at the helm.
