2025 four-star TE Emaree Winston set to decide on Monday

One of the top tight ends in the 2025 recruiting class is close to announcing his pick.

While decisions for the 2024 recruiting class will be coming fast and furious with the early signing period approaching, there is now a decision set for a 2025 recruitment on the ledger for Monday.

Four-star Calhoun (Ga.) tight end Emaree Winston announced last week that he will be announcing his commitment on December 18th with a commitment show on 247Sports starting at 4 p.m. Central. Winston announced previously that his top three schools were Ohio State, Texas, and UCF.

Winston made unofficial visits to all three of his finalists this fall, but as things sit on Sunday one program appears to be trending heading towards his decision date. Four picks have been logged in favor of the Longhorns in 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions with the latest coming from Steve Wiltfong.

With the Longhorns likely losing their top tight end option in Ja’Tavion Sanders after this season and Gunnar Helm after 2024, Texas tight ends coach Jeff Banks has been busy trying to restock his pantry with more talent at the position.

Winston logged 965 receiving yards over the course of his junior campaign and would present Steve Sarkisian with another versatile weapon at the tight end position if he ends up picking the Longhorns next week.

Winston is the 12th-ranked tight end prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports CVomposite rankings, and the 254th-ranked prospect nationally by the same metrics.
