Texas Longhorns redshirt junior offensive lineman Sawyer Goram-Welch announced his entrance into the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer on Wednesday.

Goram-Welch will remain with the team through the College Football Playoffs.

A consensus three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, Goram-Welch was ranked as the No. 1,220 player nationally and the No. 93 defensive tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The previous Texas staff offered the 6’4, 307-pounder in December 2019 when he was committed to Oklahoma State. Following Goram-Welch’s decommitment from the Cowboys, he took an official visit to Austin and pledged to the Longhorns several days later.

Goram-Welch redshirted as a freshman, appearing in three games with a tackle in the Alamo Bowl win over Colorado, then played in two games as a redshirt freshman, making a tackle against Rice. In the spring of 2022, Goram-Welch moved from the defensive line to the offensive line, but did not make any appearances that season. As a redshirt junior, Goram-Welch was listed as the third-string center on the depth chart, appearing in one game this season before receiving recognition on Senior Night last month.

Goram-Welch is the third Texas player to enter the portal since the transfer window opened on Monday, joining redshirt freshman cornerback X’Avion Brice and senior safety Jalen Catalon.
