The University of Texas confirmed today that suspended sophomore guard Martez Walker has withdrawn from the university.
In September, Walker was charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly punching his girlfriend multiple times during an argument. She was later taken to the hospital.
A little more than 24 hours later, Walker turned himself in to campus police. He was suspended indefinitely from the basketball team and was barred from campus.
The following week, Walker was arrested again, this time for trespassing on campus, entering a residence hall after he had been banned.
Something I'll never forget about Walker. He came from a terrible side of Detroit. His family told UT: "Make sure he never comes back."
