Suspended Texas G Martez Walker arrested again

This story isn't getting any better.

Days after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, suspended Texas Longhorns sophomore guard Martez Walker was arrested again on Monday:

After the assault charges were filed, Walker was kicked out of student housing and, as Davis mentions above, he was barred from campus. The hope here is that Walker didn't return looking for his assault victim.

The resolution of those assault charges will not likely be favorable for the left-handed Detroit native if the evidence ultimately ends up supporting the arrest affidavit obtained and released last week by the Austin American-Statesman.

Walker turned himself in to Travis County officials late last Thursday after the Wednesday incident. According to the affidavit, Walker got into an argument with his girlfriend after she went out to happy hour with a male colleague.

Following a verbal exchange, Walker's girlfriend slapped him in the face and was then punched multiple times in the side by Walker after curling into a fetal position on a couch "because she said she knew from previous fights with Walker that he was going to hit her."

Walker allegedly hit her "hard" four times in the side before dragging her out of the San Jacinto Residence Hall dorm. She was later transported to a hospital with possible broken ribs.

Other than the obvious heinousness of Walker allegedly striking his girlfriend during this incident, the more disturbing fact may be that Walker has allegedly done this before not only based on his girlfriend's reaction after slapping him, but also because the officer who arrived on the scene noticed a bruise on her neck she said was from a previous assault by Walker.

The 6'4, 185-pounder was one of the few consistent outside scoring threats for the Horns during the 2013-14 season. Appearing in 33 games, he averaged 4.7 points per game and shot 35.3% from long distance.

He is currently suspended indefinitely.
