Texas Longhorns fans abound can all finally take a collectively sigh of relief as Texas has made the NCAA Tournament as an 11-seed in the Midwest Region, where they will face the 6-seeded Butler Bulldogs.
Texas was able to bypass the play-in round, despite the collapse in the quarterfinal of the Big 12 Tournament against the Iowa State Cyclones in a game that could have seemingly guaranteed their place in the NCAA Tourney days before Selection Sunday.
But none of that matters now. Texas made it into the NCAAs with a clean slate and another opportunity to turn what has been a disappointing season into one that can be salvaged if the Longhorns can manage to steal a win or two. First up; Butler on Thursday.
