If there’s even been a time for a Longhorns' commit to feel uncertain Rick Barnes’ future as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, it was now. Reports surfaced Thursday that Athletic Director Steve Patterson gave Barnes the ultimatum of making mass changes to his coaching staff and getting the boot himself. Further updates emerged Friday, claiming that Barnes would not satisfy Patterson’s demands to fire members of his coaching staff, which pointed to the assumption that Barnes will relieve himself of his duties or let Patterson do the honors for him. That news came to fruition Saturday with ESPN reporting that Barnes was out at Texas, and it wasn't what Eric Davis had reportedly been told would be the case only yesterday:

Davis: "He's staying there, just rumors floating around. I'm still committed to the University of Texas."
