Some good news came today on the recruiting front for Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns, as 2016 four-star Yates (TX) point guard Jacob Young announced via Twitter that he plans on staying in-state and playing for the Horns:

Young, the little brother of former Oregon star and current Indiana Pacer Joseph Young, ranks as the nation’s No. 15 points guard and the No. 7 overall recruit in the state of Texas, per 247Sports.
A versatile scoring lefty, Young will now be a part of what looks to be an extremely talented Longhorns backcourt in 2016, with numerous top recruits considering Texas.
Young’s announcement now gives Smart and Texas their first commit for the 2016 class. The 6'0, 165-pounder also holds offers from Baylor and Duquesne.
