Yesterday, 2016 five star point guard De-Aaron Fox released a list of the seven schools he will consider for his recruitment moving forward. Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, North Carolina State, Arizona, Louisville, and LSU all made the cut. Texas did not.

It is unfortunate for Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns, as Fox is a dynamic and athletic point guard who is perhaps the best player in the state of Texas. The lanky 6-4 guard can do everything that you need to do on a basketball court, and has the potential to be a difference maker from the start of his freshman year in college.
Texas still has many other targets for the 2016 class, and already has the commitment of four star point guard Jacob Young, but Fox was the best player among Smart's targets.
