Texas Longhorns head coach Shaka Smart announced at his Monday morning media availability that sophomores Kerwin Roach Jr. and Tevin Mack are suspended for the ‘Horns Wednesday scrimmage with Angelo State for a violation of team rules.
Smart said the incident occurred “months ago.”
It remains unclear if Roach and Mack will miss any further time, as Smart said they will “return soon.”
“There’s a standard that we have to set and uphold in our program if we want to be successful,” Smart said.
In addition to Roach and Mack, Smart announced that graduated transfer Mareik Isom will miss some time following arthroscopic surgery on his ankle, which will likely sideline the Austin native for several weeks.
