Shaka Smart led the Texas Longhorns to a memorable season in year one, finishing 20-13 (11-7 Big 12) and securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Relive it all in this highlights package, which begins with Smart's introduction as coach.
"I'm so excited to be your new basketball coach," he says. "We're going to work together, we're going to work extremely hard. Everything that we do is going to be in the name of building this program and winning championships."
Texas allowed just 68.2 points per contest in league games, the lowest in the Big 12. The Longhorns also beat four AP Top 10 teams during the regular season, the most of any Division I team.
While it didn't end the way Smart or the team wanted, there's definitely momentum building in this program for the future.
