Tom Herman picks Cardale Jones’ graduation over meeting with Migos, Chance the Rapper

The Texas head coach isn’t just about hanging out with rappers.

If you had a choice between attending a college graduation ceremony or meeting some of the most famous rappers of our day, you might choose the rappers.

You also are not Tom Herman.

The Texas Longhorns head coach was offensive coordinator and QB coach when Cardale Jones lead the Ohio State Buckeyes to a national title during his first trio of starts back in January 20. The pair remain close, and with that in mind Herman will watch Jones graduate from OSU rather than meet Migos and Chance the Rapper in Austin.

Clearly, the move sends the right message to recruits, current players and even to fans — yes, Herman is well known for his love of rap music but he’s got priorities, y’all.

Jones, now with the Buffalo Bills, will graduate with a degree in African American and African studies. In doing so, he will become the first member of his family to earn a college diploma.
