The Acho Brothers continue to amaze me

Stories like this are ignored too often because stories about fights in bars make for better sports radio, but this is truly amazing. Makes me proud to be a longhorn.

College Football Financials

Interesting Fanhouse series on the financials of college football. Part 2 focuses on revenue, something the Horns rake in especially well.

Cameron Rupp Signs

+

Rupp signed with the Phillies earlier this week, which was completely expected. Chance Ruffin, Brandon Workman, Cole Green, and Kevin Keyes remain Longhorns...for now. It's not much, but it's the offseason.

Pretty cool Vid on Quincy Russell. Seems like a good kid. Hook em!

An anonymous donor has payed for a tribute at the Alumni Center featuring a brick tile with the name of every player and coach and a center tile that reads, "In recognition of the 2009 Big XII Champion Longhorn football team for an exceptional season, for representing the University with pride and class, and for never giving up."

How I remember the nat championship game

4

Immediate reactions: 1. It's really good to see some football, especially Longhorn football. 2. While I don't question the talent that will be on the 2010 roster it is a little concerning that about 85% of the plays in this game were made by players who are now off the team. 3. Lamarr Houston was unreal. He will be sorely missed.

Quincy Russell Makes 22 ($)

41

Quincy Russell and Christian Westerman made for one of the wildest days in recruiting back in April when Russell committed one evening, then de-committed the next, just as the talented offensive lineman decided to end his recruitment earlier than expected. As for Russell, he had decided several months ago that he wanted more time to take visits and make sure of his decision. On Sunday evening, Russell ended his recruitment by choosing the Longhorns, once again. Russell is the 22nd commitment in the class, leaving Malcolm Brown, Aaron Green, Jermauria Rasco, Anthony Wallace, and possibly David Jenkins as the outstanding offers. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is the only other player on the radar likely to receive an offer in 2011.
