Myck Kabongo Heating Up in FIBAA U18 Draw

After a nondescript performance in Canada's 76-52 win over Uruguay, Texas 2011 point guard commit Myck Kabongo exploded for 22 points, 10 boards, and 8 assists in a 100-83 victory against Puerto Rico, as Canada moved to 2-0 in group play of the 2010 FIBA Uner-18 chmpaionships. You can watch Kabongo and Canada take on Brazil (also 2-0 in group play so far) today at 1:00 p.m. CT on streaming video at the FIBA website. Hat Tip to Lincoln Rose for the link.

Quincy Russell Makes 22 ($)

Quincy Russell and Christian Westerman made for one of the wildest days in recruiting back in April when Russell committed one evening, then de-committed the next, just as the talented offensive lineman decided to end his recruitment earlier than expected. As for Russell, he had decided several months ago that he wanted more time to take visits and make sure of his decision. On Sunday evening, Russell ended his recruitment by choosing the Longhorns, once again. Russell is the 22nd commitment in the class, leaving Malcolm Brown, Aaron Green, Jermauria Rasco, Anthony Wallace, and possibly David Jenkins as the outstanding offers. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is the only other player on the radar likely to receive an offer in 2011.

In my quest to convince the world of the futility that is Rick Barnes

6:19: Come on Celtics … Avery Bradley … Avery Bradley … Avery Bradley. 6:20: YES! Good value. And by the way, if you're betting on a No. 1 overall high school prospect whose stock dropped a little after one college year, you want it to be for a reason like, "Yeah, he played at Texas for Rick Barnes, OF COURSE his stock dropped!"

Avery Bradley to have ankle scope, miss summer league

Will be out 6-8 weeks, but will be ready for training camp.

Very entertaining and guaranteed not to annoy! In fact, I suggest to open this link in multiple tabs!

Marcus Davis to transfer?

Got this from Bleacher Report so for all I know, this happened a month ago and I just missed it. Apologies if this is the case. Could this mean an offer is in the works for Charles Jackson?

NBA Draft Preview for the Horns

Here's an article I wrote for the Austin Examiner profiling Damion, AB, and Sexy and where they might go in the draft. Enjoy and drop me a comment if you liked the article or have something to add. Hook 'Em!

Feldman: Horns have best weight room ($)

The room, named for Saudi Arabia native and UT graduate Dr. Nasser I. Al-Rashid, is 20,000 square feet and also includes a 70-yard turf straight-away for timing and conditioning. More than half of the people I spoke to for this began their list with Texas.

Just a quick note: Fozzy is interning this summer at the company where I'm working. He's beyond nice and has been very cool about the constant fan adoration here. Anyway, it is pretty excellent running into him in the hall every day. Can't wait to see him on the field in 2 months!
