Bye weeks are no fun for fans, but they do provide an opportunity for a team to get healthy and recover from all the bumps and bruises that come as the special gift alongside a tough conference season.

To the extent possible this time of year, the Longhorns should be rested and healthy headed into the first Thanksgiving game against the TCU Horned Frogs.

Mack Brown will preview the Frogs in his gameweek press conference Monday morning at 11 am CST, available for streaming at MB-TF or on the Longhorn Network.

Get ready to Brown to mention how scared he is about an upset at the hands of Gary Patterson's team (to death, most likely), talk about how crazy things are, and some discussion of how great the Big 12 is.

As for any more insistence that Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein is "flashy" compared to Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel? Well, that seems less likely at this point.

Also, the Hex Rally is still on as the university attempts to convince people that it isn't about Texas A&M, but rather putting a hex on the Thanksgiving opponent for the Longhorns. Good luck with that.
