Longhorns Injury Update: Malcolm Brown Probable, Ashton Dorsey Out

As always, Texas released their weekly injury update Friday evening.

Spruce Derden-US PRESSWIRE

For the first time since Texas Longhorns junior linebacker Jordan Hicks injured his hip against Ole Miss, he wasn't declared out for the game on Saturday, leaving only the now-weekly update on running back Malcolm Brown and the other assortment of injuries.

Actually, Hicks wasn't on the injury report Friday because he was declared out on Monday, but the news was better on Brown, who is probable this week after being available for "emergencies" last week. Emergencies apparently don't include losing to Kansas in the fourth quarter.

The guess here is that Brown plays against Texas Tech, as this is the first week that he has been listed as probable since his injury against Oklahoma State.

There is, however, a significant addition to the injury list this week -- junior defensive tackle Ashton Dorsey, who suffered a calf injury in practice or against Kansas. He won't be available against Texas Tech.

The other players who will miss the game are freshman offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle (shoulder), freshman wide receiver Cayleb Jones (knee), and sophomore safety Sheroid Evans (leg).
