Texas WR Jaxon Shipley "day-to-day" after hamstring injury

Another injury, this time a minor one.

Erich Schlegel

For the second time in two days, the Texas Longhorns suffered an injury in practice. This time, it was junior wide receiver Jaxon Shipley who injured his hamstring on Thursday.

According to the school, Texas will be cautious with Shipley, who has been declared "day-to-day" with just over a week left until the spring game next Saturday. As a result, he may not participate in the scrimmage on Saturday that will cap the first-ever Sophomore Day, so there may be more reps for young receivers like sophomores Kendall Sanders and Marcus Johnson.

After early enrollee Jake Raulerson needed an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday night, the Longhorns are quickly reaching that point of spring practice where one of the primary objectives becomes getting out of the spring without suffering any more injuries, though fortunately Shipley's setback should only be a minor one.
