With a new scheduling agreement in place with ESPN and FOX that moves more Big 12 games to weekdays, the Longhorns were in line to have a game moved. That finally happened on Thursday:
As expected, Texas' football game at Iowa State next fall has officially been moved to Thursday, Oct. 3. Extra two days to prepare for OU.

With the Thanksgiving game against Texas Tech, that means that the Longhorns will have two Thursday games in 2013.
The best news here for Texas is that the timing of the game -- the week before the Cotton Bowl -- means that the 'Horns will have those extra two days to prepare for the Sooners, though the extra preparation time didn't seem to provide much benefit for the Thanksgiving game against TCU last year after an open date the week before.
And at least the fact that the game is on the road means Texas fans won't miss a Saturday tailgating experience outside DKR.
