The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday afternoon that they’ve signed former Texas Longhorn wide receiver John Harris. After a breakout senior season in burnt orange, in which Harris pulled in 68 receptions for 1,051 yards, the Philadelphia Eagles originally signed the undrafted free agent on May 2.
Ultimately, the Eagles would waive Harris August 10, but it may become a blessing in disguise if Harris makes the final 53-man roster cut in Atlanta. Of course, the Falcons have plentiful talent on the outside, headlined by Julio Jones and Roddy White, but there’s certainly an opportunity down the depth chart if Harris can find himself on the receiving end of Matt Ryan darts.
