For the second time in just as many years, Gilbert Johnson, the No. 2 ranked JUCO receiver will not be enrolling at a D-1 program, and this time, it’s the University of Texas.
“Gilbert Johnson will go elsewhere next season,” said Texas head coach Charlie Strong Thursday.
The Texas signee became a member of the “Florida Five,” after spending a year in junior college after failing to enroll at Georgia due to grades. After attending Georgia Prep Academy for a year, Johnson again failed to meet the grade requirements.
