Post-game thread: Clutch Trent Domingue FG gives Texas 35-34 victory over No. 8 Baylor

New, comments

This game was entirely too long, but the ‘Horns outlasted the Bears and sent the road team back to Waco with their first loss of the season.

In a game that lasted more than four hours and came down to the leg of Texas Longhorns graduate transfer kicker Trent Domingue, head coach Charlie Strong’s team prevailed and the ‘Horns remain perfect at home this season with a 35-34 victory over the No. 8 Baylor Bears.

After falling short in critical moments numerous times this season, the defense stepped up on a drive that could have sealed the deal for Baylor and the offense — courtesy of the Foreman brothers — responded by putting the ‘Horns in position to win the game.

That’s progress and for a coach clawing for every victory in hopes of saving his job in Austin, that’s enough for today.
