In the midst of a relentlessly spinning rumor mill surrounding Charlie Strong’s future as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, University of Texas president Greg Fenves tweeted some support for Strong, his staff and the players as they gear up for Oklahoma.
Had a great call w/ Coach Strong. We’re behind our student-athletes and coaches as they prepare for OU and rest of the season @Longhorn_FB

The tweet from Fenves seems to support the claims a high-ranking source made following the Oklahoma State loss, which noted that the program would not make a head coaching change midseason.
As for now, it seems Strong still has Fenves on his side and if he hopes to remain in the good graces the president and athletic director Mike Perrin, he could make some substantial headway to that end with a win over Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown on Saturday.
