ESPN’s FPI pegs Texas as the narrow favorite as well, providing the Longhorns with a projected win probability of 50.9 percent.
Currently sitting at 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play, West Virginia’s lone loss came on the road on Oct. 13 against Iowa State, which has now compiled three consecutive wins. The Mountaineers bounced back last week with a dominant showing in a 58-14 route over Baylor.
Texas, on the other hand, is fresh off of its first loss since the first week of the season, but the Longhorns are 3-0 against ranked foes this season, and they’ll return to Darrell K Royal—Texas Memorial Stadium where Texas is a perfect 4-0 this season.
Kickoff between Texas and West Virginia is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally on FOX.
