At last, the Red River Showdown is upon us, and the 2018 edition of Texas-OU may be the most anticipated matchup between the two bitter rivals nearly an entire decade.
For the first time since 2012, the Texas Longhorns (4-1, 2-0) and Oklahoma Sooners (5-0, 2-0) each arrive at the Red River Showdown ranked, as Texas sits at No. 19, while Oklahoma is comfortable within the top 10 at No. 7. Furthermore, bearing in mind the Big 12 title implications, which in turn will impact the College Football Playoff picture — for Oklahoma more so than Texas — Saturday’s meeting may be the most meaningful since 2009.

With all that’s at stake — a potential playoff push for Oklahoma, the best Texas start since 2009, just to name a few — can the Horns do enough to slow a potent Sooners passing attack? Similarly, can Sam Ehlinger match those fireworks and find success against an Oklahoma secondary that’s struggled mightily early on?
We’ll find out at 11:00 a.m. Central on FOX Sports 1.
It’s 10:00 a.m. and OU still sucks.
