The Texas Longhorns hope to add a talented piece to their 2019 linebacker class, extending an offer to Fullerton College’s Caleb Johnson Sunday.

Johnson, who is currently committed to the Iowa State Cyclones, is the second-ranked outside linebacker in the junior college ranks, and the No. 48 ranked juco player according to the 247Sports composite ranking. Johnson currently holds offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida Atlantic Owls and Marshall Thundering Herd, in addition to his offers from the Longhorns and Cyclones.

Texas currently holds commitments from four-star linebacker De’Gabriel Floyd and three-star linebacker Marcus Tillman Jr, but needs to bolster its haul after bringing in just two linebackers in 2018. Adding Johnson would bring immediate depth to the linebacker group and could join the team for Spring Camp, with a projected December 2018 graduation.
