A pair of Longhorn legends will be joining the Texas GameDay crew for the 2018 college football season. ESPN released its Longhorn Network studio programing schedule on Tuesday and announced that former Longhorns Jordan Shipley and Michael Griffin will join Ricky Williams, Dan Neil, and host Lowell Galindo on Texas GameDay.

The additions of Shipley and Griffin come just weeks after it was announced that former Longhorns star and rising ESPN analyst Emannuel Acho was leaving his position with the Longhorn Network for an increased role with ESPN2.

In addition to Shipley and Griffin joining Texas GameDay, ESPN also announced the return of Texas Football All Access to be televised biweekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., as well as the debut of the Texas documentary, 2008: The Season, which will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Longhorns 12-1 campaign.

“Longhorn Network’s fall programming gives our viewers the opportunity to be behind the scenes, on the sidelines and in the huddle with the Longhorns,” LHN senior managing producer Ande Wall said. “With the return of All Access and fan-favorites Texas GameDay and Texas GameDay Final, along with the addition of 2008: The Season, LHN has a full schedule set to showcase the best of Texas football in 2018.”

The Longhorn Network will also televise two Longhorns games throughout the 2018 season, with the first being on Sept. 8 when Texas hosts Tulsa and the other being on Nov. 17 when Iowa State comes to Austin.

Texas’ season gets underway on the road against Maryland on Sept. 1.
