After a first-half neck injury, Texas Longhorn cornerback Davante Davis will not return to competition for the second half against the Maryland Terrapins.

Before leaving the game, Davis led the team with five tackles and a broken-up pass. On top of his performance, Texas loses the senior’s experience as it tries to mount a comeback.

Freshmen Kobe Boyce and Anthony Cook are likely to fill the role vacated by Davis, but Texas also loses the experience of 14 starts in the defensive backfield.
